Challange

Making trust immediate when family is at stake

Pet owners want to know who will care for their family member—and they want proof in seconds. The experience needed to show care, professionalism, and safety from the first screen, but the current design wasn't delivering on that promise.

Petsy already had strong values and an engaged community, but the look and feel didn't fully communicate that strength. Parts of the user experience created hesitation, and color choices affected accessibility, making key messages and actions less immediate. At the same time, the product was growing rapidly. Multiple pets per order, richer services, and new scenarios would increase complexity unless design worked harder.

Our task was clear: express what Petsy stands for and make bigger choices feel simpler without losing momentum or search equity.

Approach

Research-driven rebrand with SEO-protective rollout

We began with research and an expert audit to locate friction points. The diagnosis was clear—brand and accessibility were limiting how quickly people felt trust. We proposed a rebrand with a step-by-step rollout that protected Petsy's SEO performance.

First, we designed the new brand. Next, we applied the visual language to the existing site so color, typography, and voice were consistent. Then we moved part by part through the most important flows, improving clarity and decision speed at every touchpoint.

Playfulness and trust guided our creative direction. Imagery became candid and real, with people and pets in natural moments. The voice stayed clear, caring, and practical. We introduced a vibrant yet accessible palette and type scale so key content is easy to read and act on.
